BBC Iplayer Abroad

Recently I have been having a lot of problems when watching channels like BBC & ITV on sky. What happens is that after 10:00pm the television picture starts to break up, this making the viewing of television unpleasant and uncomfortable. You’ve probably heard that you can watch TV online or re-watch programs with websites such as BBC Iplayer or 4oD (4 on demand). Many of you have probably tried using accessing these service but have found out that they are not available outside the UK.

What many people would do would be pay for a program, e.g. Hide IP NG, that give’s you an the option to change your IP address to a British or American one.. For services like this you pay about 30 bucks for a year, which in my opinion is a very affordable price but some people don’t want to pay anything.

ADVANTAGES of Hide IP NG:

Customer Support
No need to mess around searching for IP addresses

DISADVANTAGES of Hide IP NG:

It only works for the Windows OS
It’s not free
It only has US and UK IP addresses

2. ADVANTAGES of using built in browser configuration:

You can use any country IP address e.g. Japan
It’s free
It’s works with all OS’s

DISADVANTAGES of using built in browser configuration:

You have to find the IP addresses yourself
It can sometimes be a “Hassle” configuring

First I’m going to show you the Mozilla Firefox method

Step 1:

Open Firefox and go to Tools>Options

Click on the Advanced tab and then click on the network tab.

Here we need to introduce an english IP address. We can obtain these parameters from a number of websites, Google it or try the one I use here.

Next we need to find an english IP address which CAN THEORETICALLY BE AN Y PORT. Introduce this data into the HTTP proxy field. Now you should be able to watch BBC Iplayer abroad.

The steps to do this are very similar with every browser. There are programs out there that can do this, but I will cover them in another tutorial. I will also make a video on this.

I’d like to share something that I found while I was surfing the web. Its a PSP demo site, totally free demos, walpapers, themes etc…

Yeah as I was saying they are TOTALLY FREE !!!!

Allright here are the steps:
1st You will need an email address
2nd Go to your internet browser and type in “http://www.pspdemocenter.com/ “
3rd Once your on that site you must register
NOTE: The email address is to confirm your account
4th Once you’ve confirmed your account it will be activated
5th Once you’ve activated your account, you may enjoy the rich glory of having wallpapers, demos, themes, flash games and more

NOTE: THE GAME MUST BE COPIED TO THE PSP LIKE THIS THE PSP / GAME AND PASTE IT IN THAT FOLDER

Reduce the Size of your ISO’s

All you guys who play iso’s on the memory stick of the psp can now put more games in thanks to iso to cso/dax converter. This converter compresses the iso files hence reducing the size … for example I can fit in GTA:VCS (with cheat device) , WTF (work time fun) , NFS: 5.10, FIFA STREET :2 ,Burnout: legends , Virtua tennis and Pinball all on my 2 GB memory stick along with a few homebrews and about 70 mp3′s (all compressed) and 3 music videos : D … that’s 7 games with 6 cso’s and 1 iso (GTA:VCS). This converter help’s to store more games ,I converted my 890 MB Prince of persia :revelations into a 720MB cso . Some games become half or less by size on conversion like SSX n tour (from 237.2 MB to 124 MB) , its best to compress PSP isos as it save loads of space.
You can download the ISO to CSO/DAX conveter by Danny kay here(unzip and install it) .You can download a free unzipper software here
With the software you can covert CSO,ISO and DAX into CSO or ISO or DAX
NOTE: Almost all games run smoothly on cso and dax format but games like GTA lag a bit.

iPSP – PSP Iphone/iPod Touch Portal

iPSP is something truly awesome … its (as the title says) an apple iphone portal for your PSP . And best thing is that – you dont need to have a downgraded PSP to use this. Yes this can run on any psp firmware above 2.71 . How cool is that ??? This application is a definite EYE CANDY !!! and it really does look like THE apple iphone (spare the touch screen) .

To use the iPSP portal you need to enable Flash on your PSP . Here’s how to do it :

FOR OFFICAL FIRMWARE USERS :

1) You need a psp with firmware 2.71 or above

2) Go to any place with WiFi – wireless internet ( coffee shops , airports , hotels , malls loads of places have WiFi offered for free ) and turn the WiFi switch on (WiFi switch is found at the left end of the PSP next to the Memory stick port)

3) Next go to “SYSTEM SETTINGS” and “Click on Enable Flash player” follow the instructions – it will connect to net and stuff and enable flash.

FOR CUSTOM FIRMWARE USERS :

1) Go to recovery mode . Don’t know how ? (click here to article)

2) Next go to “Registry hacks” and click on “Activate Flash player”

3) That’s it your done , you don’t need Wifi or anything to activate it . Back and Exit .

iPSP INSTALLATION :

There is no chance of bricking your psp while installing it so don’t worry

1) Download the pack from here

2) Open it with WinRAR , if you don’t have WinRar download it from here . Connect your PSP to the PC via USB .

3) Open the pack with WinRAR and copy the “PSP” folder and “PSP TUNES” folder to the ROOT of the memory stick . IT will ask you whether it can overwrite just click on “YES”.

NOTE: the ROOT of the PSP is not the MP_ROOT it is Removable hardisk (H:\ , I:\ , J:\ etc) – the drive that pops up when you connect your PSP to the PC the place with “PSP” , “MP_ROOT” folders etc .

iPSP USERS GUIDE :

1) To use iPSP go to the “internet browser” (noo you don’t need WiFi this time)

2) Press triangle if you don’t get the address bar and stuff . Then go to Tools > Settings >Cache Settings > and make cache size as “DO NOT USE “

3)Then go to the ADDRESS BAR and type in “ file:/PSP/COMMON/ipsp/index.html ” (click on pic below) without the quotes . Bookmark it – saves time .

4) It will ask you if it can play the plugin – choose “YES” and there you go your very own iPSP . Turn your PSP vertically – use the analog stick as a cursor and X for choosing

NOTE : If you get memory errors just delete your cache .

Change The Windows Logon Screen

Do you ever get bored of seeing the boring windows logon screen when you start up your windows machine, knowing myslef you probably do. You probably think to change your logon screen you’d have to replace original windows files, it could be done that way but there is a far easier method which is quicker and can be changed to you liking. It’s as simple as installing a program, any one without no windows knowledge could do this easily, which I think is good for those people who don’t get on well with computers.

All you have to do is go to the Logon Studio Webpage and download it, on the webpage you will be able to see screenshots, download premade logons and more.

Free Proxy Services

Ever accessed the internet in a public area, like a library or a school and had a website blocked by a parental control service, I know what it’s like because at my school I always have facebook, youtube and other sites blocked by the parental control.

There are loads of ways you can get past these parental control filters, and I going to tell you one of those methods now.

To get past the parental control filters we are going to use a proxy service called Hidemyass, this service is available at hidemyass.com.

The process is pretty simple, all you have to do is type the URL of the website that is blocked in the imput field and then hit ENTER or Hide My Ass.

This website aswell as having a free proxy it will have other useful items on it, like manual proxy configurations and other things i’ll leave for you to figure out.

Kon-Boot

Kon-Boot enables you to log into any Windows or Linux password protected computer without knowing the password or anything about it.

The tech behind it? Kon-Boot basically latches onto parts of the memory and starts patching parts of the kernel (the Brain!), mainly the parts that have to do with the log-on auth and security. These patches let you logon without a password. Then, the bootkit does it so quickly that it leaves no footprints behind after you leave.

To do this:
Click here and download Kon-Boot, open the zip file, and burn the .iso to a disc. I use ImgBurner because it is fast, easy, and FREE.

Shut down the computer you intend to get on to. When booting up, if it isn’t already set to boot from CD (or flashdrive, or whatever Kon-Boot is on), go into the BIOS and set it. You should see the Kon-Boot splash screen for a few seconds, then the username/password screen will appear with the main username already set if they have it saved. If not you need to know the username ahead of time. Press enter or type in some random characters (it doesn’t really matter) and press enter. You’re in!

Now party, snoop around, and get that file you wanted. Get your flash drive or CD out, then shut the computer back off like usual.

Protecting yourself:
Password protect your BIOS!
True Crypt your entire harddrive!
